Quick Recovery
Your sniper has a cooldown on his shot of 22 frames (= 0.91 seconds).
So for 0.91 seconds after shooting (or after skipping), your sniper can't take another shot. There is no way to reduce this time, 0.91s is the MINIMUM between two shots
If you kill somebody, then lock a second person, you might get shot during your cooldown (or "reload") because your sniper will just face and stare at the second person without shooting.
In order to kill multiple people in very quick succession, you'll need to master the pullshot. A pullshot is when your sniper immediately pulls away after shooting. This can achieve two things:
- If there's another sniper following close behind the first (very common in higher level games), you can pull out of range of the second sniper (or into a blind) while you wait for your cooldown to finish.
- It can prevent your sniper from getting 'stuck', where they're unable to move forward until you pull back first.
How to perform a pullshot
The important thing to remember is that you need to initiate your pull *before* your sniper shoots. If you're clicking to pull after you shoot, your sniper will more than likely stay still while it completes its cooldown.
You need to pull *just* as your sniper is beginning to raise their gun. You can't react to it, though, you have to predict it, which means you have to be very comfortable with the range of your sniper.
Note: skipping, stalling
Skips and stalls count as a shot in terms of the cooldown, so if you skip or stall you'll have to wait the 0.91s cooldown before you can actually shoot. [An exception to this seems to be minor stalls, where your sniper begins to stall but the enemy walks back into range immediately. It's possible for the shot to happen sooner in those cases.]
WARNING
The pullshot is a risky move. If you overestimate your range, you will pull too early and are likely to skip. Don't attempt pullshots until you are very comfortable hitting dlocks from every angle.
